Blue Cheese Crostini

Blue Cheese Crostini

Fast. Simple. Delicious. Blue cheese crostini is a pungent-sweet appetizer just waiting to be elevated further with the right tea pairing. Introducing Amaretto back tea with its nutty, rich flavor  the taste reminds me of an Amaretto Sour. Blue cheese and nuttiness are such an interesting combination, so worth trying.

Ingredients

French baguette

1/2 pear cut into long thin slices

2 oz Chiriboga blue cheese

Olive oil for drizzling

1 oz chopped walnuts

Honey for drizzling

Preheat oven to 400F. Slice 6 half-inch pieces of baguette and lightly drizzle both sides with olive oil. Place the slices on a parchment paper lined tray and into the oven for 8 minutes. Now, the baguette slices have become crostini. Wait for 5 minutes to cool.

Spread about a half teaspoon of blue cheese onto each crostini and top with pear slices. Drizzle with honey and add chopped walnuts. Serve with Amaretto black tea. Irresistible!
